Ayana Porter is the daughter of Inez Porter-Roberts and the step-daughter of Michael Roberts. She is a powerful seer who is destined to be the mother seer of a Neteru team.

As a teenager Ayana is tall, with a great figure and beautiful brown skin. She has long dark hair styled into microbraids.

Appearances

The Hunted

Ayana is first seen when Damali peeks into her room while she is sleeping. Damali marvels at how gorgeous she is and praises Inez for her mothering.

The Forbidden

It's mentioned that Ayana is staying with Inez's mother while Inez gets her finances together.

The Darkness

Ayana has been looked after by Delores; the two of them have been shuttled around various safe houses protected by clerics to keep them safe from the dark side.

In the latest safe house, Ayana sees Fallon Nuit outside her bedroom window, and is tricked by him into letting him into the house. As soon as he is in, Fallon attempts to abduct Ayana, but is stalled by her screams and Mom Delores' interference. When Nuit slams Ayana against the bedroom wall, Christine, summoned by Ayana's call for help, cushions the child's impact and tells her to keep screaming at Nuit. Then Inez, Mike and Damali appear, to take both Delores and Ayana to a safe place. Ayana reveals Christine's presence during Nuit's attack, and isn't afraid when Damali shows her wings.

Unlike Mom Delores, Ayana finds the energy transport to Phat G's restaurant delightful and claps her hands. During the battle between Dracula's troops and the Neteru team Ayana stays hidden and out of the way, and is largely unafraid of what is going on.

While Damali and Carlos are in the Light, Ayana is looked after by the guardians. At one point, she almost interrupts her parents while they are in the middle of making love to each other. After this incident the guardians work to mentally shield Ayana from what goes on in certain parts of the compound, including the bedrooms.   

When the team goes to battle The Antichrist‏‎ in Greece, Ayana and Mom Delores are temporarily sent to live in a safe house in Brooklyn.          

The Shadows

Ayana and Delores have returned to the guardian compound. Ayana is the first to sense the Devil's hijacking of the media. The cartoons she watches make her cry. J.L. notices this, and though Mom Delores thinks it's a tantrum on Ayana's part, J.L. suspects that it's something more, and tests out his theory. With Ayana's help the team realizes that the Devil is working the media to his advantage.
