Sarah Richards was the mother of female Neteru Damali Richards and wife to Reverend Armand Richards. Twenty years before the series begins, Armand was kidnapped by Master Vampire Fallon Nuit and turned. Sarah, irrational and thinking her husband was cheating on her, went to a root worker and used a witch's spell to find her husband. She accidentally intruded upon Nuit and was turned by Nuit. She killed herself to protect her infant daughter. However, her soul was trapped in Hell until Fallon Nuit's death at the hands of Damali. 

After her death Sarah became an angel. She carried the recessive Powers Healing Angel gene which was passed down to Damali.

In the prologue of Minion, Sarah claims to have known and been in love with Armand Richards since they were children.

Little is said of her physical appearance. Thought she's noted by Carlos as resembling Damali when viewing the events that led to Fallon Nuit's release.

Referred to as Angel Sarah. She is said to have held Sarah Rivera's soul when the dark forces clawed the fetus from Damali's womb.
